Communications and Marketing Officer
Key Information:
(Permanent part-time employed role)
Location: Woldies, Wintringham, Malton, North Yorkshire, YO17 8HW.
Primarily based at Woldies, with flexible part home working an option once settled into the role.
Hours: 10–15 hours per week, over 2 to 3 days.
Working pattern: Flexible days and hours for the right candidate. Due to our seasonal opening hours, some weekend and school holiday work required from March through to September.
Salary: £7,800 – £11,700, dependant on experience and hours.
Holiday: Equivalent to 5.6 weeks per year, including bank holidays.
About Woldies:
Woldies is a unique, family-friendly visitor attraction set in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds.
As Woldies continues to grow, we’re looking for a Communications and Marketing Officer to help us share the Woldies story and attract more visitors through creative, engaging digital and print marketing.

The Role:
You’ll help promote Woldies through marketing across our digital and print channels. This is a hands-on role where you’ll create content, share ideas, and bring the Woldies experience to life for our visitors and wider audience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create and schedule engaging content for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
- Engage with visitors online and in person.
- Capture photos and short videos on-site.
- Update our website content including blogs, news and promotions.
- Maintain listings on external sites.
- Design simple, eye-catching graphics and adverts for digital and print (e.g. social media graphics, posters, flyers, signage).
- Assist with email newsletters and digital campaigns.
- Promote events, seasonal activities and special offers.
- Monitor engagement and suggest ideas to improve reach and visibility.
- Maintain Woldies warm, family-friendly brand across all platforms.
- Build and maintain relationships with local media, schools, accommodation providers and tourist organisations.
- Help create and deliver events
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in marketing and content creation.
- Good understanding of social media platforms and how to engage an audience.
- Confident creating written content in a friendly, approachable tone.
- Comfortable creating simple graphics and adverts for digital and print (e.g. using Canva or similar tools).
- Good understanding of WordPress, SEO and Google.
- Good understanding of Mailchimp or similar for newsletter creation.
- Basic photography and video skills for social media content.
- Organised, self-motivated and able to manage your time effectively.
- Able to work independently and use your initiative.
- A willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the role.
