Ever wondered which species of bird is circling above or how to tell a queen bee from a worker?
Explore and learn all about our fascinating native wildlife species. What can you spot and identify? Be inspired and spark a lifelong passion for nature for all ages!
Woldies unique hexagon themed Bee Garden is a beautiful, interactive and engaging space to explore and learn about pollinators! Take on the ‘Pollination Game’, help with ‘The Bee Count’ and spot bees making honey in the Giant Observation Hive.
Look out for big buzzards soaring overhead, the tiny Goldcrest (the UK’s smallest bird!) and so many species in between. Wander through the Bird Garden, plus – step in to a life size nest.
Enter Woldies NEW Butterfly Garden to discover plants that provide butterflies with their favourite nectar to drink! Help with Woldies Butterfly Count and identify the species you have seen.
Insect Orienteering
Hidden within the games maze, take on the Insect Orienteering challenge. Find all 10 insects and test your knowledge.
Can you spot fish, frogs and newts swimming around the lily pads in the Fish Ponds?! Get up close or sit and relax and listen to the waterfalls.
Woldies Nature Pond is wildlife haven! A peaceful spot to take in the variety of aquatic plants and wildflowers. Get up close to tadpoles and if you’re lucky spot wild ducklings and moorhens. Take part in Woldies NEW Dragonfly Count and learn about these fascinating creatures!
Spiders Lair
Step through the trees into The Spiders Lair…if you dare! Keep your eyes peeled for giant spider sculptures dangling from the trees and challenge friends and family to Woldies most infuriating game...Ringing the Fly!
Walks
Impressive floral displays, changing throughout the season. With more than 50,000 beautiful spring bulbs, stunning wildflowers and of course rows of tranquil lavender to explore.
Explore Woldies tranquil Woodland Walk. Look out for animal sculptures and activities along the way. Enjoy carpets of beautiful flowers, primrose, cowslips, grape hyacinth, bluebells and more. With plenty of seating, sit in dappled shade and listen to the birds in the treetops.
Tree trail
Plus don’t miss Woldies Tree Trail, test your knowledge at leaf ID and collect all the leaf rubbings to gain a Nature Mission stamp.
Spring Bulbs & Blossom
Visit throughout April & May to see the changing spring bulbs and blossom. Daffodils, cowslips, primrose, bluebells, alliums, anemone, tulips, muscari, iris, crocus and more.
A pollinators paradise and a sensory treat. Soak in the lavender field while the whole family escape and recharge. Listen to the hum of bees and insects and indulge your photography skills.
Lavender Distillery & Essential Oil
Explore the custom-built, wood fired lavender still. Learn about the steam powered distillation process used to produce our high quality, unique Wolds Way Lavender 100% Pure Lavender Essential Oil.
